Grading a Dropped Student
Purpose: It is often necessary to either enter or clear grades for a student that has been dropped from your course section. As long as the student's enrollment record wasn't deleted entirely you will still have access to the grades and assignments of that student for the span of time they were enrolled in your course section. This article will show you the steps to find them.
Method:
- Open PowerTeacher Pro
- Select the appropriate course
- Ensure you're looking at the correct term
- Click on the "Students" charm
- Click on the little "Show Dropped" link in the top corner of the Students Charm slide-out menu.
- The student roster in the slide out menu will now display any dropped students. If no students have been dropped from your course, or if the dropped student had their enrollment record completely deleted then this menu will be blank. Note that the "Show Dropped" link in the top corner now says "Show Enrolled" so you can toggle back to the normal view.
- Select the dropped student you need work on and then re-open the Students charm and select "Standards Progress"
- You may now grade the student as normal.
Please note that if you are being directed to enter grades for a term that has completed you will see the "[Term] is already completed" banner on the top of the page. This is only to make you aware that you may be in the wrong term and will not hinder your ability to enter or modify grade data for that student.
