Laptop Won’t Connect to Monitor/Projector or Audio
Purpose:
To try and restore connections between the laptop, docking station, and other classroom technology.
Guide:
Sometimes when you dock your laptop in a classroom, it may not connect to the classroom monitor or projector, or even the classroom speakers. Often times power cycling the docking station will fix this problem, both restoring video and audio.
Step 1:
Locate the docking station in the classroom. It should be on or somewhere near the teacher desk. We have two different models:
Step 2:
Next you will need to locate the power cord for the docking station. Most of the time it will have a blue light or ring around it, but sometimes it will not. Once you have located the power cord move on to step 3.
Step 3:
Remove the power cable from the docking station for a few seconds, then plug it back in.
Step 4:
Check to see if your video on the monitor and projector are now working.
Conclusion:
If your video/audio is not restored to the projector or your classroom monitor, there is likely another issue that we will need to solve for you.
If so, please report an issue at support.psd1.org so we can assist you as soon as possible.
