Not Seeing Video on All Screens / Screens are Black Except for Laptop
Purpose:
To re-enable any attached screens that have been disabled by the computer.
Guide:
Sometimes after a round of windows updates or reconnecting to your classroom dock, some displays may not come back on even though your mouse and keyboard and other technology items are working. This guide will show you a simple way to check if Windows has disabled these displays without your permission.
Step 1:
Right-click on your desktop background and look for the “Display Settings” option.
Step 2:
Look for any “gray-ed out” displays that show in the visual representation of your monitors.
Step 3:
Click on one of the gray (disconnected) monitors.
Step 4:
Scroll down until you see a drop-down menu for “Multiple Displays”.
Step 5:
Click on the drop-down menu and select either “extend” or “duplicate” depending on your preferences. Your screens will go black for a second, and then an option to “Keep changes” or “discard” will appear. Click on “Keep Changes”.
Step 6:
Repeat these steps for each monitor that is not working.
Conclusion:
If the above steps did not help, there may be another issue causing the problem with your displays. You can check out other helpful articles or report an issue so we can assist you as soon as possible.
